What do most grad students pay for a 1-bedroom apartment or condo? I will need a place with at least a gym and pool. It'll be great if it had a sauna room and tanning beds.
What kind of place can I get for under $1000/mo? $1000-1500/mo? or $1500-2000/mo? I don't know what the normal price range for TX is.

You will not stand out at all, Houston is a very diverse city with a large asian population....For 1000-1500 a month you should find a nice one bedroom in the Med Center....Balyor is a good school, Houston's a nice, affordable city, you should feel right at home.
